Few expected to see a glimpse of Diablo 4 in live-action, and fewer still suspected an award-winning director like Zhao would be involved. Many fans of Diablo 4 were understandably floored by the game’s newest trailer. ![]() The grim commercial cast Liu as a stand-in for the protagonist of Diablo 2, and did an excellent job of teasing the remake’s release. Last September, Diablo 2 Resurrected got a live-action trailer featuring Simu Liu, the star of Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Interestingly enough, this is not the first time Diablo and Marvel have crossed paths. The trailer ends with a stunning image of Lilith, who looks as if she had stepped straight out of the game itself. All throughout, the innocent citizens of Sanctuary plead with the viewer to save them while demons swarm about, threatening to plunge the world into chaos. Though only a minute long, this commercial blazes through each of the five playable classes in Diablo 4, showcasing some of their most iconic spells and abilities in a new light.
